About

History comes alive in Springfield, where you can walk in the footsteps of our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, as he did from 1837 to 1847 in the area of Bicentennial Plaza – a REALTOR® Community Partnership.

The Plaza is an investment in the city of Springfield’s downtown, realizing a long-held vision for a pedestrian walkway linking the Lincoln Home National Historic Site to the Illinois Governor’s Mansion and state Capitol along the Jackson Street corridor.

Your personalized brick donation to the REEF Bicentennial Education Fund helps fund the Plaza’s educational interpretive panels: “Abraham Lincoln’s Vision for America, dedicated to the people who lived and worked here to advance that vision.”

The Plaza also features a monument commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act on April 11, 2018.

The Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF) is a Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your donation may qualify as a charitable deduction for federal income tax purposes. Please consult your tax advisor or the IRS to determine whether your contribution is deductible. To learn more about REEF, visit www.ilreef.org.
