History comes alive in Springfield, where you can walk in the footsteps of our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln, as he did from 1837 to 1847 in the area of the Bicentennial Plaza. This tree-lined public space will revitalize the corridor, providing opportunities for REALTOR® and civic community events as well as a public pathway from the Abraham Lincoln National Historic Site to the Governor's Mansion and Illinois Capitol.

Educational interpretive panels along the Plaza tell the story of "Abraham Lincoln's Vision for America, dedicated to the people who lived and worked here to advance that vision." The Plaza features a monument commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act on April 11, 2018.
